Most reliable manufacturers would tell you that it's easy to succeed with plush toys. They are insanely popular and you can use that popularity to succeed. But ask yourself if your idea is going to sell and make money. A lot of toy inventors make the mistake of skipping this part and there are a lot of reasons why you shouldn't. Here are some of them:
1. You won't waste money. You will make an investment if you decide to be a toy inventor. Don't make the mistake of falling into the trap of overconfidence. Sure, stuffed animals can rake in a lot of money so it's okay to invest a significant amount of money. But what if it doesn't? What if your idea is already saturated? If you're really serious about making these toys, you're going to invest time and effort. You'll spend some time looking for the best manufacturer because only they can turn your idea into a reality. If you order from a manufacturer without really checking if your idea is viable, you would have wasted a lot of time and effort in case it doesn't sell. 3. You might miss your chance and opportunity. Sure, you can try again. But what if that idea was your chance to produce the next big hit in the industry? Let's say you have an idea for stuffed animals and you didn't check if the idea is viable. Now that you realize what's happening, someone already beat you to it. That's an opportunity of a lifetime that you missed.
You're already investing money, time and effort. Make sure that everything is worth it. It's just a simple question - is my idea viable? That question can lead to a barrage of information that can help you improve on the idea or scrap it altogether. It's not enough to just depend on the popularity of something like stuffed animals.
